I can picture June Cleaver in her apron saying, "Beaver, wait until after dinner before speaking with your father." It all sounds like posies and roses, but since the Women's Lib movement, I don't see it happening. What I CANNOT picture is my wife in June Cleaver's place. My home is more like a night with the Osbournes (without all the swearing and drunken/drugged stupors). However, from a man's perspective (mine specifically), it sounds wonderful... and way too good to be true. Dale Oy, vey! Ha! Sometimes that diaper CAN in fact wait until Daddio gets home to pet the apes. Alas, I appear to be in good company. I'm not the only one who shuns such ridiculous ideals (that persist in their own way today no matter how hard we try to stamp them out). I'm also not the only one who shuns the myth of "work - life balance." What the hell IS that anyway? And is it even a goal worth aspiring to?
