Jaime, this is really touching… you knew I’d love it I am donating in memory of my birth mother, Nora, who died in ‘96, and my two close friends, Susan and Cathy, who left this world in 2007 and my good friend Chrissy who, as you know, was just diagnosed this past January. At one time I had 5 friends fighting breast cancer, all at different stages, and I’m 34 years old.

Strong, young, vibrant, courageous women who didn’t smoke and were very health conscious. You hit the nail on the head – an epidemic and hopefully someday soon a cure will be found, but more importantly, preventing what the hell is causing it. It’s been going on too long.

My beloved Grandmother died of breast cancer back in 1976. I was only 6 years old and her loss impacted me greatly. Back then, getting a breast cancer diagnosis was like getting a death warrant. I’m so thankful that since then many advances have been in the diagnosis and treatment of this awful disease. I for one intend to make a donation this month as I do as often as I can to the Susan G. Komen foundation in memory of my loving grandmother. I miss her still.
